Astronomy is the mother of culture and science.
Astronomy is the foundation of human logic and the thinking model of all our perceptions. Astronomy creates the miracle of life composed of cycles of permanence and change, which are our standards of harmony, balance, and truth. Astronomy lead to the development of all things: culture, science, philosophy, mathematics, geometry, government, law, morals, and religion.
The relationships between the sun, moon, planets, and stars, led to the understanding of numerous cosmic cycles. This in turn led to the development of multitudinous scientific systems which revealed the operations of agricultural cycles, fishing seasons, the safe sailing periods for navigation and trade –all of which contributed to the rapid advancement of society and humanity.
The study of the greater astronomical cycles which generate catastrophic episodes of destruction followed by new creation and rebirth generated ideas of the eternal permanence of energy and spirit –which in turn gave rise to religion and a Higher Creative Force within the universe.
Astronomy reveals the mystery of holy numbers and sacred geometry in the Old Testament of the Bible and Islamic traditions, as well as the Vedic, Hindu, Egyptian, Chinese, Far Eastern, and the Mexica-Maya-Andean astronomy.
Thomas Karl Dietrich presents the ancient astronomic and cosmic worldview through a lifetime of investigation of the world’s museums, ancient sites, global myth, astrology, technology, and science.
